Incorporated in 1994, the Virginia Health Care Waste Management Cooperative (VHCWMC) was formed as a collaborative effort among VHHA members seeking a long-term solution to regulated medical waste management. Launched in late 2003, VHCWMC began offering its members a reusable sharps container program to further its mission of reducing red bag waste, while decreasing overall disposal costs.
Since that time, the program has exploded in popularity after proving safe to use, significant cost savings and its positive impacts on the environment. |
